APS verifies academic documents and educational qualifications issued by Indian institutions for applicants who intend to study in Germany.
APS (Akademische Prüfstelle) is the Academic Evaluation Centre responsible for verifying academic documents and educational qualifications issued by Indian institutions for applicants who intend to study in Germany.
APS India is part of the Science Section of the German Embassy in New Delhi and operates in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). APS does not decide university admission or visa approval.
Generally Required: The APS certificate is generally required as part of the German student visa documentation for applicants with Indian academic qualifications. Limited exemptions apply, including certain PhD/PostDoc applicants, German or EU publicly funded scholarship holders, and applicants with relevant non-Indian or international qualifications. Always confirm your individual case.
The APS processing fee is ₹18,000 and is non-refundable once paid. Payment can be made through CCAvenue during online registration or by bank transfer to the official APS account. Follow only the current payment instructions on the APS website.
Students applying for Germany often require assistance with document preparation, application submission, and university selection. Guidance for APS and German university applications is available at Berlin German Academy in Surat. Students can also join online German classes from Navsari, Bardoli, Kim, Vapi and Valsad, or enquire about German language training near Mota Varachha and Udhna.
New dMAT Rule: For the Summer Semester 2027 intake and later, dMAT is required for selected Master's applicants whose previous degree is in Engineering; Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Economics; or Business and Management. Transitional and programme-based exemptions may apply. TestAS is currently not mandatory for the APS India verification procedure, although a university or visa section may require it separately.
Use the official checklist matching your profile. Submit legible A4-sized colour photocopies and copy both sides where applicable. English or bilingual documents generally do not need notarisation. Documents issued only in a regional language require notarised English translations.
